UVP ChemStudio PLUS (formerly BioSpectrum Imaging System)

UVP ChemStudio PLUS is designed with automated software controls to simplify gel and blot imaging. This powerful system offers a complete solution for publication quality images. Select from high resolution, high sensitivity CCD cameras depending on your imaging applications. For example, the MegaCam 815 camera with dynamic 8.1 megapixel high resolution and high sensitivity capabilities captures fluorescent gel images and low-light chemiluminescent western blots. Select the UVP ChemStudio PLUS 315 for gel doc applications. This configuration is upgradeable for western blot imaging.

UVP ChemStudio PLUS Imaging System
Applications for this system include chemiluminescent blots, Northern blots, Southern blots, chemiluminescent Western blots, fluorescent westerns, protein blots, dot blots, protein gels, bioluminescence, DNA gels, blue light gels, TLC gels, colony plates, 2D gels, multiplex, colorimetric, visible light gels, autoraphiographs, microplates, microarrays.

  • Controls the motorized zoom lens, epi and transillumination UV and white light, emission filter selection and system power
  • Allows selection of user-defined or default settings
  • Select from SYBR Green (515-570mm), SYBR Gold (485-655mm), EtBr (570-640mm) filters or from other added filters
  • Click on the epi and transillumination light sources
  • Set templates and user preferences for recurring experiments

Transillumination

  • Choose from a variety of UV transilluminators excitation of EtBr and other stains; select from single or multiple UV wavelengths and 20x20cm, 21x26cm or 25x26cm filter sizes
  • Transilluminator is placed on easy access, roll out tray
  • LED white light plate supplies uniform white light illumination
  • T o fluoresce GelGreen, SYBR Green and other stains that require the 460-470nm range, add the optional Visi-Blue plate

Chemiluminescent Imaging

  • The MegaCam 815, BioChemi 515, and OptiChemi 615 cameras are cooled CCD cameras recommended for chemiluminescent imaging
  • For western blot and other chemiluminescent blots applications, place blots on the removable chemi tray
  • For chemiluminescent applications, place the chemi tray on top of the white light plate for placement of blots
  • Adjust the height of the tray to specific, repeatable positions
  • For western blot imaging, for application use information refer to the article titled "Ultra-Rapid and Ultra-Sensitive Detection of Proteins in Chemiluminescent Western Blotting"
